The Long Mynd

The Long Mynd, or 'Long Mountain', is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and provides some excellent walking country. An ancient track, the Portway, runs along the top of the great ridge which extends for 10 miles and is home to a wide range of upland flora and fauna.
Wenlock Edge

Wenlock Edge is a rare and special landscape stretching for 18 miles through Shropshire. The thickly wooded limestone escarpment offers dramatic views, dappled paths, historic quarries and limekilns as well as rare flowers, mammals, birds and insects. OS grid reference - 138:SO612996

Although in the heart of the Midlands, Downs Banks offers a peaceful escape from the noises and stresses of everyday living. A great place to take your dog and there are plenty of bridleways to choose from, perfect for horse riding and cycling.
Kinver Edge

The famous Holy Austin rock houses sit below this impressive sandstone ridge. Although no one's lived in the houses, home to the last troglodytes in England, since the 1950s they have been restored and it's easy to imagine life underground. Kinver Edge offers dramatic views across surrounding counties and miles of spectacular walking country.

Clent Hills
