Herefordshire

Berrington Hall

Berrington Hall, Herefordshire

This exquisite 18th-century mansion is set in 'Capability' Brown's last garden design, with superb views to the Brecon Beacons. The Hall's austere façade belies a beautiful delicate interior. The garden contains a historic collection of local apple trees.

Brockhampton Estate

The Brockhampton Estate, Herefordshire

A romantic medieval moated manor house lies at the heart of this traditionally farmed estate. See the wooden sculptures on walks through the estate's woodland, which is home to a rich variety of wildlife, from dormice to ravens.

Croft Castle

Imposing Croft Castle has connections dating back to the Norman Conquest. The castle's fine Georgian interiors are matched outside by the restored walled gardens, Kitchen Garden, Vineyard, and Park with its magnificent avenue of ancient Spanish chestnuts.

Shropshire

Attingham Park

One of the great houses of the Midlands, Attingham Park's magnificent interior contains collections of silver, Italian furniture, Grand Tour paintings and a picture gallery by John Nash. The park has attractive walks and a children's play area.

Staffordshire

Biddulph Grange Garden

This garden, full of Victorian eccentricity, takes you on a journey of discovery through individual gardens inspired by countries around the world including China, Egypt and Italy. The garden is a showcase of rare and exotic planting.

Warwickshire

Baddesley Clinton

Baddesley Clinton, Warwickshire

This atmospheric house has changed little since 1634. Its interiors reflect the house's heyday in the Elizabethan era, when it was a haven for persecuted Catholics - there are no fewer than three priest holes. The enchanting garden contains stewponds, a lake walk and nature trail.

Charlecote Park

Charlecote seems to sum up the very essence of Tudor England. There are strong associations with both Queen Elizabeth and Shakespeare, who is alleged to have been caught poaching here. The formal garden opens onto a fine deer park.

Coughton Court

Coughton Court is one of England's finest Tudor houses. It has strong associations with the Gun Powder Plot. Its stunning displays of roses and herbaceous plants have been described as 'breath-taking' by the RHS.

Packwood House

A Tudor manor house with a fascinating Civil War history, Packwood's lavish interior includes renowned collections of stained glass and tapestries. The gardens have celebrated herbaceous borders and a famous collection of yews.

Upton House

This mellow stone house contains outstanding paintings, including works by Hogarth, Stubbs, Canaletto, and El Greco. The Art Deco bathroom is a dramatic design in red, black and silver. The fine garden has terraces, herbaceous borders, kitchen garden and ornamental pools.

Worcestershire

Croome Park

Croome was 'Capability' Brown's first complete landscape, which sealed his reputation, Croome is now being restored to its former glory. Many of the elegant park buildings are by Robert Adam. There are miles of walks through lakeside gardens, shrubberies and open parkland.

Hanbury Hall

This homely William & Mary-style house is famed for its fine painted ceilings and staircase. Other fascinating features include an orangery, ice house, pavilions and working mushroom house. The stunning garden is surrounded by parkland, with beautiful views.
