Fourteen months after we launched the campaign to save Seaton Delaval Hall, people are understandably asking... Have we secured it yet? What are we waiting for?
After a fantastic fundraising achievement by the National Trust and the local community, HRH The Prince of Wales visits Seaton Delaval Hall for the final push to secure the Vanbrugh masterpiece for the nation.

The visit comes as the Regional Development Agency, One North East (ONE), confirm they will commit £1 million to the acquisition, which raises the appeal total to £4 million. They are supporting the project because they see Seaton Delaval Hall's potential to become a great North East visitor attraction and to provide a boost for businesses in South East Northumberland.
Now, two key factors remain to help us reach our £6.3million target:
Acceptance in Lieu (AIL)
Lord Hastings has been working with the government to agree the terms by which this wonderful place can pass to the National Trust in payment of the family's inheritance tax bill. This is a complicated, private process, but all parties are seeking to move it forward as soon as possible.
The last £300,000
After AIL is complete, we will still be £300,000 short of the funding we need. We're so nearly there so we're asking everyone who supports the campaign to donate towards this final push...
