Thinking about volunteering and want to be part of a group? Our volunteer groups help our staff with hands-on involvement, organising conservation days and weekend events. Activities range from footpath and step construction to planting and coppicing.
Who are we?
West Yorkshire National Trust Volunteers (WYNTV) is a conservation volunteer group founded in 1983 assisting staff at several National Trust locations throughtout West and North Yorkshire by doing work such as digging, fencing, clearing, planting, etc.
Tasks are usually arranged every other Sunday throughout the year at locations such as East Riddlesden Hall, Brimham Rocks, Beningbrough Hall, Hardcastle Crags and the Yorkshire Dales. We also usually arrange two weekend tasks per year; One in Borrowdale in the Lake District in April, and another at Cragside, Northumberland in November.
Our programme of events also includes a number of non-task orientated social events such as country walks, ten-pin bowling nights and, our pièce de résistance, a Pudding Evening (where members bring their favourite puddings, usually over 10, for tasting).
