Want to be more involved with your favourite National Trust property? Join your favourite property's supporter group to enjoy social events and raise money for the property.

Working in partnership with staff, the groups have a special relationship with the property, helping to ensure that it flourishes and is enjoyed by the whole community.

About the group

The Friends of Washington Old Hall is an independent registered charity whose objectives are to promote the preservation of Washington Old Hall, to improve visitor facilities and also to enhance the quality of the Hall’s immediate environs. Its members recognise the historical and environmental importance of the Hall and seek to promote it as a centre for community activity and educational opportunity.

Much of its income comes from its fundraising activities and through the provision of catering services, to the casual visitor and also visiting groups.

This fundraising has enabled the group to give £26,000 towards the purchase and conversion of a nearby property to a School Room for use by school groups and more recently, £80,000 was given for paving improvements and the installation of a garden lift.

Whether a member of the Trust or not do get involved, you would be made very welcome.
