The Leeds and District Association was founded in 1974 and currently has about 400 members. It covers all areas in and around both Leeds and Wakefield.
Our objectives are to promote interest in and support for the work of the National Trust locally, to raise funds, and to arrange a programme of events and activities to enable National Trust members to enjoy their membership more fully.
Leeds and District Association is independent of the National Trust and is governed by a constitution common to all the charity’s centres and associations. Our affairs are run by an executive committee and an events committee. Officers and committee members are elected annually at our Annual General Meeting.
Among the National Trust properties which we have supported with contributions are Nostell Priory, Cragside, Malham Tarn, the Farne Islands, Hardcastle Crags, Beningbrough, Brimham Rocks and Rievaulx.
