Ryedale Centre was founded in 1982, to cover an area bounded by Whitby in the North, the outskirts of York in the South, Scarborough in the East, Easingwold in the West, via Pickering, Kirkbymoorside, and Helmsley. Many of our 300 members live in rural villages. We have a particular affection for and involvement with Nunnington Hall, near Helmsley, where we hold our Committee meetings.
Our objectives are to promote the National Trust locally, raise funds in its support, and arrange a programme of events and activities to enrich members’ understanding of its work.
Ryedale Centre is independent of the National Trust and governed by a constitution common to all the charity’s centres and associations. Our affairs are conducted by a committee of officers and members who are elected at our annual general meeting.
