It should be a great day out, with the chance to enjoy stunning coastal scenery on the 13 mile journey from Souter Lighthouse to Seaton Sluice, on some of the best traffic-free routes that the National Cycle Network has to offer. Families wanting to take part in a shorter challenge can join the ride at Tynemouth Priory (12pm) or St Mary’s Lighthouse (12.30pm).
Your destination will be the Hall itself, where a Family Fundraising Day will be an opportunity to recharge your batteries, tour the property and enjoy a range of community events and stalls.

To kick off the fundraising, there is a bike ride admission fee of £20 per family and £10 per individual. This will give you a route map and ticket for free entry to Seaton Delaval Hall’s Family Fundraising Day, free refreshments en route and free Tyne ferry crossing. Book now or on register on the day.
If you raise £50 or more in sponsorship, you'll also be entered into a competition to win a £1,000 family bike kit courtesy of Sustrans.
Cyclists or any other fundraisers who are taking part in an event to save Seaton Delaval Hall can set up an online fundraising page by visiting www.justgiving.com/nationaltrust - setting up your own page should only take 5 minutes and is an easy way of gaining sponsorship from your friends and family.

Green and healthy living is not a new concept to Sustrans or the National Trust, neither is it to the local community. Local Sustrans Ranger for NCN1 from Blyth to Tynemouth told us: 'I am really keen to see the National Trust acquire Seaton Delaval Hall, particularly if it would see the chance of having open access to the property's grounds. The location of the Hall has the potential to connect a lot of existing routes and become the hub of the local cycling network.'
If you aren’t able to join the bike ride, but would like to support the appeal to save Seaton Delaval Hall you can:
