We’re holding an open day for the launch of the Studley Lake Project on Tuesday 3 November at the Tea Room at 10am
Our day has been planned especially for local residents, National Trust members, volunteers and visitors to the estate. Please come and find out why this is the most important and exciting conservation and restoration project at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal for the last 20 years.
Members of the National Trust team responsible for delivering the project will be on site to provide an insight into this significant project.
- General Manager, Chris Fowler will give a warm welcome and introduction
- Head of Landscape, Michael Ridsdale will give a presentation on the aims of the project
- Lead Territory Archaeologist, Mark Newman and Regional Nature Conservation Advisor, Stephen Morley will lead walks around the lake
- The project team will be available to speak to over drinks and refreshments at Studley Tea Rooms
There will also be the opportunity to view the exhibition in the Lakeside Exhibition Room. This will be in place until the project concludes in 2011 and will be updated regularly with information for visitors.
