The region has specialist learning staff working with local schools, colleges and community groups, developing exciting educational opportunities for all ages at our properties. Our education programme offers a range of teacher resources, outreach workshops and curriculum related group visits.

Overnight residentials at Gibside

  • Custom-made residential visits for schools.
  • Stay in the accommodation in the Stable Block at Gibside and take part in a variety of activities that can be tailored to your group’s needs.
  • Current programmes include a guided night-time walk to experience the sights and sounds of the woodland after dusk, a conservation task and investigating winter nest building.
  • The accommodation can be booked during the week or at weekends.

  • Voluntary speakers in Yorkshire and the North East offer a wide range of talks to groups.
  • Talks can help to reveal the history, landscapes and ‘behind the scenes’ at National Trust properties.
