Seaton Delaval Hall, one of Northumberland’s greatest and most romantic houses, has a long and magnificent history. The community around it has played an important part in its life ever since it was built by architect, Sir John Vanbrugh, in the 1720s.
Now it needs your help to save it – and to shape its future.
Seaton Delaval Hall will be sold privately if the National Trust cannot step in and save it for the nation. A massive fundraising appeal has been launched and everyone – in Northumberland and across the country – is being asked to help secure and shape the future of the Hall, gardens and grounds.
This is an exciting opportunity for everyone to get involved in the future of this special part of Northumberland’s heritage. Overall the National Trust needs to raise £6.3m to save Seaton Delaval Hall.
Your donations or fundraising efforts will help to ensure the Hall’s amazing architecture and gardens can be preserved for generations to come, while providing a stunning backdrop for local community activities. We hope the Hall will be a hub of activity for the community, and envisage its future as one of a living, breathing place for all to enjoy.
We’d love to hear your views on Seaton Delaval Hall. You can contribute to the discussion forum and questionnaire which have been launched by the Newcastle Journal, or you can email us direct at seatondelavalhall@nationaltrust.org.uk.
