Royal Academy of Arts: 31 January – 13 April 2009.
The architect that inspired Trust properties such as Stourhead, Basildon Park, Stowe Landscape Gardens, West Wycombe Park, Kedleston Hall, Castle Coole, Florence Court and Clandon Park is to be the focus of a major new exhibition from the Royal Academy of Arts and the Royal Institute of British Architects.
The exhibition marks the quincentenary of the birth of Andrea Palladio - one of the greatest Italian architects. His masterpieces include many pubic buildings and chuches, however it is his town palaces and country villas that influenced subsequent generations of European and American architects.
