Tyntesfield was saved as the result of a magnificent response from our supporters. In 100 days, over 77,000 people donated £8.2 million.
A new phase of restoration With your help the new phase of restoration can now takes place, it will be one of the most challenging and rewarding pieces of work that the National Trust has ever undertaken. We have a wonderful vision of how much can be achieved here, but we need you to join us in making it a reality.
Safeguarding the precious contents During Tyntesfield's first five years in our care, the National Trust has made emergency repairs, safeguarded the precious contents of the house, and started to catalogue the vast riches that Tyntesfield holds, from the jewel-encrusted chalice to the moth-eaten teddy bears.

A successful application for funding Having successfully bid for funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, we have got off to a great start. However, the work has only just begun, and to ensure that many different people will be able to visit and share in Tyntesfield's wonders - for generations to come - we must invest heavily over the next five years.
The Five-year plan We not only need to fund conservation work such as repairs to the roof of the house and chapel, we also need to improve facilities for visitors. This means converting outbuildings into a learning centre that will make Tyntesfield a centre of educational excellence and help create a new generation of craft skills. It means accommodation for volunteers, clearing footpaths through the grounds, and a hundred other things too - all of which are in our detailed five-year plan.

To complete the five-year plan we need to raise £3.6 million. It's a big target, but if the fantastic support Tyntesfield has received from people like you so far continues, we are confident it can be achieved by 2012.
Your donation will help fulfil Tyntesfield's extraordinary potential Tyntesfield truly is an extraordinary place with a suitably extraordinary vision for an exciting future. Supporters, staff and volunteers can all be proud of what we have achieved together in the first five years of the project. With five years still to go - and so much more that needs doing - now is the time for us all to pull together to make sure we fulfil Tyntesfield's rich potential.
