Some of the National Trust’s most important properties are not the great stately homes and historic estates you’re familiar with, but the green spaces near you that need our special care.
Without your help we may not be able to protect them forever, for everyone.
About some of our green spaces
Cobham Park, near Gravesend A few years ago, this 200 acres of parkland had become the haunt of vandals. Cars were driven in and set on fire. The listed mausoleum at its centre was filled with tyres and virtually destroyed by arsonists. Today, the mausoleum is restored and the National Trust is taking over the space to continue the improvement of the woodlands for wildlife.
Whitehaven, in Cumbria An outstanding stretch of coastline exhausted by 300 years of industry. The National Trust is working with the local communities and property owners to help restore this unique site so once again, the people of the north west can enjoy their heritage.
Plymouth Green Spaces in Devon The National Trust looks after a variety of sites near to Plymouth, including Saltram and Cotehele. We are now building new cycle paths to ‘link up’ these places – including a number in and around the Plymbridge area – which will provide greater access to nearby green spaces and encourage greener transport in the area.
Help us nurture acres of Green Spaces around England and Wales for generations to come.
