This year we are running four raffles: the property raffle; the Northern Ireland raffle; the summer raffle and winter raffle both for National Trust members.
There is a great selection of prizes to be won, with the added bonus that your money helps us fund projects and continue our work.
The property raffle
Tickets for this raffle are sold at selected properties from March to November. The money you pay for your tickets is used only at the place where you bought them. Properties often have a specific project which will be funded by money raised from the raffle.
The 2007 property raffle raised £545,489. These vital funds are being used for a wide variety of projects that we would not have been able to undertake if it hadn't been for this money.
Speak to your local property, if they are participating, to buy tickets.
The summer raffle
The summer raffle is only open to National Trust members. Tickets are sent out in May and June to all members. Winners are drawn in October. The 2007 members’ summer raffle raised £893,617.
Funds raised by this raffle are used to bolster the funds raised by the property raffle. For every £1 a property raises, the membership raffle gives them another £1. Any further money raised is then used where the need is greatest.
The winter raffle
In 2007 in addition to our usual members’ summer raffle and the property raffle, we ran a winter raffle. This was sent to members who supported our raffles in the previous three years, and was also sold at 68 of the our properties around the country that were open during the winter.
The response was very encouraging, and the sum of £331,706 was raised. Some of these funds will be used to bolster the funds raised by the participating properties; the rest will be used where the need is greatest.
The Northern Ireland raffle
Tickets are sent out in May and June to members living in Northern Ireland, and tickets are available to purchase at properties in Northern Ireland. Tickets are also on sale at selected gardens open under the Ulster Gardens Scheme.
