Sir Laurie Magnus Bt has been Deputy Chairman of the National Trust since November 2005.
Laurie Magnus is a member of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Board's Appointment Committee and a member of the Audit and Senior Management Remuneration Committees.
He was elected to the Council in 2003. He was Chairman of the National Trust's Finance Committee from 2002 until 2005, having been a member since 1997.
He has over 25 years of corporate finance advisory experience and is currently Vice Chairman of Lexicon Partners. His previous employers have included HSBC Investment Bank, the Phoenix Partnership, Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette Inc, and Credit Suisse First Boston.
Laurie holds a number of non-executive directorships including Xchanging ins-sure Services (Chairman), TT electronics plc, FIM Investments Limited, J P Morgan Income and Capital Investment Trust plc and The Cayenne Trust plc.
He is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Eating Disorders Association and a Trustee of the Windsor Leadership Trust.
