The challenge
A team of regional sales manager from Nationwide took a day out of their busy schedules and swapped their suits for old clothes to restore an old boundary wall and help improve access for visitors at Dyrham Park, Bath.
The impact
Kevin Cobb, Sales Manager, commented: 'We all had a great time; we learnt so much about Dyrham and helped restore the path and dry stone walls.' Kevin went on to confirm the challenge was a great opportunity for team building: 'Everyone played their part and, I feel, got to know a little bit more about each other, and themselves probably, as a result of the activity.'
Another colleague said: 'The aching limbs were forgotten very quickly when we realised what we were achieving. The passion was so great post event that we started talking about an annual pilgrimage to support a cause that is close to our hearts.'
Dyrham Park gained a team of nine, helping complete tasks that would have taken the warden over a week to complete. Head Gardener at Dyrham explains: 'The task has been outstanding for well over a year and has helped us take forward our restoration project.'
