Thinking about volunteering and want to be part of a group? Our volunteer groups help our staff with hands-on involvement, organising conservation days and weekend events. Activities range from footpath and step construction to planting and coppicing.
Who are we?
Formed over 20 years ago, a group of some 50 friendly people, from Cheshire, Wirral and North Wales, of varying age, (18 - 70+), who enjoy friendship, working together and good fresh air.
We carry out work days in the grounds of National Trust properties of Cheshire and North Wales. We gain great satisfaction in completing worthwhile tasks and projects. As a 'spin off', the work helps us to keep fit.
What constitutes a work day?
Arrive at the site at 10am (it may be possible to share transport) and work until 4pm (with regular breaks - mid morning, lunch and mid afternoon). Do what you feel capable of, enjoy the company of like-minded people and breathe good fresh air! There is always a task for everyone. No prior knowledge or experience is required, only a willingness to get involved. Be ready for any weather and any job.
