If you are currently completing a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award the National Trust has a range of opportunities at bronze, silver or gold level.
- Service
There are lots of opportunities for you to volunteer with the National Trust in a variety of different roles. Whether you are getting your hands dirty with some outdoors conservation work, guiding people round a historic house or helping steward a special event the National Trust will have opportunity for you.
- Skills
It may be possible for you to develop a wide range of skills whilst volunteering with the National Trust. From archaeology to IT, fence-building to photography - the possibilities are endless!
- Physical recreation
As one of the biggest landowners in England, Wales and Northern Ireland there is a big chance that if you are interested in outdoor activities like mountain biking, walking, orienteering, surfing, sailing and so on, you could be doing it on National Trust land.
- Expeditions
Why not plan you expedition between National Trust properties using our network of basecamps and campsites as you base?
- Gold residential
Every year hundreds of gold participants book a National Trust Working Holiday to complete their residential. If you are under 18 you can book onto one of our Youth Discovery Working Holidays, offering you the opportunity to enjoy the Working Holiday experience with people your own age. For over 18s there is a wider range of opportunities.
Alternatively, you may wish to complete our Young Heritage Leaders Award. As well as qualifying for your residential project, you will also complete a John Muir Discovery Award and gain a qualification in team leadership.
