On a spur of land rising above the River Deben you’ll find Sutton Hoo; the burial ground of Anglo-Saxon kings and warriors.

This atmospheric place is one of Britain's most important and internationally renowned archaeological sites.

One of several large mounds was excavated in 1939, revealing a fabulous Anglo-Saxon ceremonial burial chamber within the remains of a 90 ft ship, that had lain undisturbed for over 1300 years.

Only 500 yards from the famous mounds you’ll find the exhibition hall, which houses a full-size reconstruction of the chamber and tells the story of the site, described as 'Page One of English History'.

This is a most unusual venue, which provides a range of facilities from the modern Glass Restaurant in the award-winning Scandinavian style visitor centre, to the Edwardian gravitas of the Panelled Room in Tranmer House. The venue is ideal for conferences, fine dining and team building.

You can also host a drinks reception in the Exhibition Hall around the full-size replica of the ship’s chamber or a lunch party in the Glass Restaurant overlooking this ancient landscape.
