Waddesdon Manor is a magnificent house designed in the style of a 16th Century French chateau.
Built for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild, it was specifically intended as a house to entertain his guests and display his vast number of art treasures, including world-renowned collection of French furniture, paintings and decorative arts.
The grounds are equally impressive with beautiful panoramas, fountains, grottoes and a vast rococo-style aviary, housing colourful rare and exotic birds. It is an extraordinary testimony to Victorian taste, technology and wealth.

There are a number of wonderful ways that you can entertain your guests at Waddesdon Manor.
Start your evening with a 'grand vins' tasting in the Wine Cellars and enjoy some of the finest wines from world class Châteaux, such as Lafite Rothschild and the stunning Pomerol Château l’Evangile. Then, enjoy a private tour of the collection of art treasures, followed by dinner in the Blue Dining Room.
The Dairy provides a stylish setting for larger groups and, in winter, you can warm yourself in front of roaring fires in the West Hall and enjoy the wonderful views across the lake.
