The Liverpool People and Places project
The Liverpool People and Places has been a highly successful city wide community art and photography project based on the work of Edward Chambré Hardman.
Hardman was a leading photographer in Liverpool during the 20th century and documented the city through fifty years of change. His former home and studios at 59 Rodney Street and archive of over 140,000 photographs are now in the care of the National Trust and provide a fascinating insight into the history of Liverpool.
Laura Naylor, community project officer for the trust has been working with a number of different groups of young people across the city to develop artistic projects inspired by the work of Hardman. The project culminated in a celebrated touring exhibition of the work of the young people alongside the work of Hardman which visited public spaces across Liverpool during the Capital of Culture year.
The valuable learning resources above, which are free to use are based on the Liverpool People and Places project and will help young people understand their local heritage.
