Set in a steep gorge, this property demonstrates the power of water and its impact on industry. Our film, Reflections on Tin, shows its 400-year-old history, from 1584, including a visit by the famous artist Turner. A small water-powered tin works was the last industry. Today the waters of the River Dulais are used to make Aberdulais Falls self-sufficient in environmentally friendly energy, with its waterwheel the largest in Europe generating electricity. Lifts enable visitors to access the upper levels for excellent views of the falls. Note: waterwheel and turbine subject to water levels and maintenance
- 'The Tin Exhibition' ¿ about adults and children who worked here.
- See Reflections on Tin at the Turbine House cinema.
Activity days, demonstrations and family quiz trails. Painting and archaeology days. Dogs: Dogs on leads only
