    Access to the Bridgewater Monument is free for those who have arrived at the estate by bus with a valid bus ticket.
     
    Walking  By foot
    Ivinghoe Beacon is at the end of the Ridgeway National Trail, an ancient 87 mile trackway which follows the chalk escarpment down to Overton Hill, near Avebury in Wiltshire.

    There are also paths up to the Ashridge estate from Aldbury (½ mile), Tring (1½ miles) and Ivinghoe village (¾ mile).
     
    Cycling  By bike
    Quiet lane and off-road cycle routes, including the Icknield Way, and the Tring and Berkhamstead circular rides pass through the estate. Cycle-parking is available at the Monument and Ivinghoe Beacon car parks.

    Bus  By bus
    For Bridgewater Monument and Ashridge visitor centre, take the Arriva 30/31 from Tring railway station. Alight Aldbury, ½ mile away. From Berkhamsted town hall take Arriva 30.

    For Ivinghoe Beacon, take the Arriva 61 Aylesbury-Tring-Dunstable-Luton service (passing close to Aylesbury railway station and Luton railway station).

    Chiltern Rambler 327 links Hemel Hempstead and Tring to Ashridge's Monument and Beacon, as well as the Dunstable Downs and Whipsnade Wild Animal Park, on Sundays between May and September.
     
    Train  By train
    Tring railway station just over 1½ miles from the Bridgewater Monument.

    Cheddington railway station 3½ miles from Ivinghoe Beacon and 2½ miles to Pitstone Windmill, use Arriva 64 bus service.
     
    Road directions  By road
    3 miles north of A41 between Tring and Berkhamstead, off B4506 from Northchurch (to Ringshall and Dagnall), or off the A489 from Dunstable.
