    A whole host of events take place at Ashridge, including guided walks and talks about the estate, wildlife workshops and hands-on family activities, like pond-dipping.

    Find out more about Ashridge in the new Discovery Centre, which has lots of interactive games to play. You can also pick up a children's activity sheet or just run off some steam in the woodlands.
     
    Walking  Walking
    Ashridge is perfect for short, long, easy and more energetic circular walks. Self-guided trail leaflets can be purchased in the gift shop.

    Ivinghoe Beacon is also the final destination for the Ridgeway National Trail.

    Cycling  Cycling
    Family cyclists and mountain bikers are welcome on the 9 miles of public bridleways which cross the estate.

    Horse riding  Horse riding
    Horse riders with permits are welcome on 15 miles of paths on the estate. Contact our Riding warden or Visitor Centre in advance for details of how to purchase one.
     
    Kite flying  Kite or model flying
    Ivinghoe Beacon is a perfect spot to fly a model aeroplane. For model aeroplane flying access is available via the Ivinghoe Soaring Association. Please note that a peg system is in operation and appropriate insurance is essential.

    The estate is a fantastic location for bird-watching and wildlife-spotting.
     
    Get involved  Get involved
    Meet other like-minded people on a working activity holiday or a youth discovery holiday. Opportunities are also available for casual and part-time volunteers.

    Learn new skills such as habitat management, scrub clearance and pond clearance, as you help to maintain this mosaic of chalk grassland for plants, butterflies and birds.
