One of the wonderful things about Avebury is that there is a village in the middle of one of the largest Henge monuments in Britain. We welcome everyone to come and enjoy this beautiful place, but please respect those that live in the village, by parking in the National Trust Car Park.
Opening Times The car park is open from 9.30am until 4.30pm in the winter, and 9.30am to 6.30pm in the summer. Alternative parking is available in the village car park after 5.00pm.
Information for Disabled People It is around 200m from the Main Car Park to the Henge, and a further 150m to the Old Farmyard, where the National Trust Museums and other facilities are based.
Blue Badge holders can park for free in the village car park, which is closer to the Old Farmyard.
There is also a drop off point for people with limited mobility near the Barn in the Old Farmyard, where wheelchair accessible toilets and restaurant are available.
Camper Vans and Mobile Homes Camper vans and mobile homes are welcome to park in the main car park during the day. However, due to local planning regulations, no overnight camping is allowed in the main car park. Please help us to comply with local regulations by noting the closing times of the carpark. Breaching these conditions can cause a nuisance to local residents and we may have to remove your vehicle from the car park. Our friendly staff can provide details of local campsites.
These conditions of entry are written to ensure enjoyment of the site and public safety for everyone. Please help us to ensure that future access to the site is sustainable, by reading and complying with these conditions. We hope you enjoy your visit.
