Designed by John Wood the Younger in 1769, the Assembly Rooms were at the heart of fashionable Georgian society, and were the perfect venue for entertainment and socialising. Bombed in 1942, they were subsequently restored and now visitors can fully appreciate the magnificent rooms. The Rooms are now let to Bath & North East Somerset Council, which has its Fashion Museum on the lower ground floor.
