Get wild about wildlife with our Tracker Packs for children, available free of charge from the Visitor Centre.

Children will also love our self-guided themed trails, seasonal island walks and seasonal make and take craft activities.

We offer free guided walks, twice daily, 11.30am and 2pm, giving an introduction to Brownsea Island. We also have red squirrel walks in the autumn. Contact us to find out more.

The Baden-Powell Outdoor Centre offers the chance for a range of recognised youth, community and school groups to experience a real island adventure!

The Outdoor Centre comprises a 20 hectare campsite with full shower, WC facilities and camping equipment for hire.

South Shore Lodge is a 24-bed hostel style accommodation, situated on the south coast of the island, with views over the Purbeck hills. A full range of led and self-led outdoor activities are available including: archery; low ropes; 3D spider's web and problem solving.

The Outdoor Centre is also the perfect place to host small corporate events or team building days. We are currently developing our sailing and kayaking offer to include two short taster sessions, through to certificated courses for the 2009/10 season.

Beaches and opportunities for swimming are available off the south side of the island.

Can you help us look after Brownsea Island? There is a wide variety of opportunities from Pier Warden to helping in the café. Conservation work includes clearing rhododendrons, habitat management, path maintenance and more. Please contact us to find out how you can get involved.
