Trail leaflets for waymarked trails
- Historical Trail
A 2 hour walk round the island, seeing evidence of the pottery along the way.
- Smugglers Trail
A 1 hour walk for 6-10 year olds, collecting letter clues en route.
- Explorers Trail
A simple map-reading challenge to find letters on posts throughout the island.

Brownsea Island Activity Book for Teachers
This book, published by the National Trust, is written primarily for Key Stages 2 & 3 but also includes topics for post-14 studies. It contains many suggestions for projects and activities with key questions and recording sheets.

Poole Historical Trust
A record of life on the island by Jack Battrick, born on Brownsea into a family, which had settled on the island in 1890, tells of the happy life of the island community which came to an abrupt end when Mrs Bonham Christie bought Brownsea in 1927.
In 1962, when Brownsea was bought by the National Trust, Jack returned and helped prepare the island to receive visitors once more.
