Palladian-style country house built 1780-3 and remodelled 1934-6 by the 2nd Lord Faringdon. Houses the Faringdon Collection of art established in the late 19th century by Alexander Henderson, later the 1st Lord Faringdon. This includes Old Master paintings by Rembrandt, Botticelli and Murillo, works by pre-Raphaelite artists, such as Burne-Jones and Rossetti, as well as furniture designed by Robert Adam and Thomas Hope. The beautiful landscaped gardens contain the famous water garden designed by Harold Peto.
