About this property With a beautiful cathedral-like interior, majestic Coggeshall Grange Barn was originally part of a Cistercian monastery and is one of the oldest surviving timber-framed buildings in Europe. After years of agricultural use, the barn fell into disrepair but was saved from demolition and lovingly restored in the 1980s. It now houses a small collection of farm carts and local historic exhibits. Prior to its restoration, the barn was used as a film set for Southwark's Tabard Inn in Pier Paolo Pasolini's 1972 film version of Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales.
