    Why not enjoy a picnic, walk the dog, try bird-watching or wildlife-spotting in this huge outdoor space? It's a perfect place for children to work off some energy and enjoy the fresh air.
     
    Walking  Walking
    Miles of footpaths cross the valley, heath and woodlands at Downs Banks, but if you prefer wandering your own way, the whole estate is open access land, so feel free to explore.
     
    Cycling  Cycling
    Explore Downs Banks on a bike by cycling on bridleways around the estate. The trails are suitable for families as well as more adventurous mountain bikers. Follow the horseshoe way-marked trails or take a look at the map in the car park for more information.
     
    Horse riding  Horse riding
    Horseriders are welcome on bridleways across the estate - follow the horseshoe way-marked trails or take a look at the map in the car park for more information.
     
    Kite flying  Kite or model flying
    The open spaces are good for flying kites, just watch out for the trees!
     
    Orienteering  Orienteering
    There is a permenant orienteering course around Downs Banks, managed in co-operation with the Potteries Orienteering Club.
