Designated accessible parking spaces in Seahouses town centre car park, ¼ mile uphill from the harbour. Wheelchair users may require support with this slope. Drop off point and limited accessible parking spaces on the quayside.

    WC
Accessible WC on Inner Farne and near the harbour in the centre of Seahouses.

    Pathways and open space
Inner Farne is the only island accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs, though for health and safety reasons, if you need assistance to be lifted out of the boat in a wheelchair, then you must provide your own helpers. Please contact us for more information. Staple Island's terrain is rugged, with many cliffs and gullies. A walk around it involves steps, some clambering over potential slippery rocks and uneven hummocky grassland.

    All-ability trails
Our wooden boardwalk around Inner Farne offers a ¾ mile easy access trail to all the key viewpoints. Wheelchair users may require some support with several slopes and the cobbled courtyard that gives access to St Cuthbert's Chapel, the visitor centre and WCs.

    Seating, rest points and shelter
Benches are located on Inner Farne near the lighthouse and near St Cuthbert's Chapel.

Level entrance to the visitor centre on Inner Farne.

    Accessibility - sensory  Sensory highlights

Whether it's the scent of the salty air, the feel of the sea breezes on your face or the loud crash of waves on to rocky cliffs and shorelines; the Farnes are a treat for all the senses! In summer, listen out for kittiwakes calling from their nests on precipitous ledges, the warning screeches of Arctic terns and the comical noises of puffins.
