The project has supported:
- Essential maintenance and repair work to the hall and buildings on the estate
- Provided opportunities for learning and community access through the appointment of a Community Learning Officer
- The development of the Park Centre
- The development of the Stone Centre which has enabled visitors to find out more about the history of the traditional craft of stonemasonry at Hardwick
- The opening of The Threads of Time exhibition in the Hall which tells the story of Bess of Hardwick, the collections and sumptuous furniture in the Hall and how the National Trust plays a role in looking after it today.
The exhibition includes previously unseen items from the collection including the impressive 16th-century Tobit Table Carpet and the Ivan Turner miniature furniture collection which is on permanent display for the first time.
