Step back into the Middle Ages in the unique area of ancient coppiced and pollarded trees that is Hatfield Forest. Very little has changed since Henry I claimed this forested landscape in the early 12th century. This is a place of great historical and ecological importance, supporting rare and specialised wildlife – from deer to the smallest minibeast.
