About this property Take a trip back to the 1760s, when wealth and power enabled the creation of this outstanding house and beautiful landscape park. Designed to impress and amaze visitors, Kedleston was built between 1759 and 1765 for the Curzon family, who have lived in the area since the 12th century. Experience the most complete and least-altered sequence of Robert Adam interiors in England, with magnificent State Rooms and a fine collection of paintings and sculpture. The recently redeveloped Eastern Museum is full of fascinating objects collected by Lord Curzon when he was Viceroy of India (1899-1905). Four different walks allow you to explore the 330 hectares (820 acres) of historic parkland, with a beautiful series of lakes and cascades. Enjoy the garden, which has been restored to an 18th-century Pleasure Ground, and visit All Saints' Church (owned by the Churches Conservation Trust) which is all that remains of the medieval village of Kedleston.
