| This restored Georgian cotton mill tells the story of 'King Cotton' from a bale of raw cotton to finished cloth. The process is brought to life by spinners, weavers, machine demonstrators and interactive displays. Interpretation panels and static displays illustrate the world of the mill workers. The original Apprentice House recreates the 1830s atmosphere of the lives of the child workers. Quarry Bank House Garden, open to the public for the first time and still undergoing restoration, offers the chance to explore the private recreation area of the Greg family as it was. | | | | Allow 1½hrs minimum to visit Mill, 2½hrs to visit Mill and Apprentice House or Mill and Quarry Bank House Garden.
