As our rooms are small, your party will be split into smaller groups of approximately 15 students. A learning guide will lead each group.
1: Houses and homes tour With the help of our guides students will look at the way the House was built, find out how some of the rooms were used, and see what some of the people who have lived here over the last 400 years looked like. They will be able to compare how things used to be long ago with how things are today, to find out how much has changed - and how much hasn't.
Available for up to 60 children per day, the tour will start at 10.30am and finish at approximately 12pm, when you can return to school or stay on site for the afternoon.

2: Tudor morning tour Our guides will take the students around the outside and inside of the Hall, looking at the way the House was built, the Family that built it, and at how both the House and Family were affected by religious and political changes. Students will be given the chance to learn a simple dance, and some may have the chance to dress in costume. Our guides may also appear in costume.
Available for up to 75 students per day, the tour will start at 10.30am and finish at approximately 12.30pm, when you can return to school or stay on site for the afternoon.

3: Tudor 'hands on' tour Our guides will take the students on a Tudor Morning tour. This will be followed by an afternoon session in our Education Room. With the help of our guides, who will be using two complete costumes and replica artefacts, students will discover what a Tudor Boy and Girl would have worn; how table settings were related to wealth and status; and how herbs and spices were used for health and hygiene. If each student brings a small orange with them they will also have the opportunity to make a pomander, a 16th-century scented ball.
Available for up to 40 students per day, the morning tour will start at 10.30am and finish at approximately 12pm. The classroom session, starting at 1pm, will finish at approximately 2.15pm and we recommend a coach for 2.30pm. If your coach needs to leave before this time please let us know on arrival at Speke Hall, as this allows us to adapt your programme accordingly.

5: Other options Programmes are also available for GCSE, GNVQ, A Level, Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. We can adapt our history programmes to suit your students’ needs and interests.
Other possible areas of study include Technology, Tourism, and Art.
Let us know your area of interest and we will try our best to accommodate you.
It is possible to make afternoon bookings for Examination groups, particularly those studying Leisure and Tourism who will need to see the property in action. Groups wishing to visit in an afternoon can opt to go around the Hall without a guide.
You should have no more than 25 students in your group, and you will be admitted to the Hall in family sized groups of 8. An adult must supervise each group if your students are under the age of 18.
The Hall is only open for this type of education visit on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 1pm, 20 March to 31 October 2004.
However, if you require a guided tour of any kind then a morning booking is best, as guide availability is extremely limited in an afternoon. We can accommodate up to 60 students for groups booked in for a morning visit.
Grounds Only visits can be made through out the School Year but it is essential they are booked in advance with the Learning Staff.
The Grounds are open from 11am until 5.30pm from 20 March to 31 October, and from 11am until 4.30pm from 1 November to 19 March. See opening times
