    Discover more about the wildlife, geology and history of the St David's Peninsula on a guided walk or talk, with National Trust wardens or other local experts. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park run lots more countryside events here too.

    Build a sandcastle and fly a kite on the beach, spot birds and butterflies from the coastal path, or just run off steam in some wild open spaces!

    As well as the Pembrokeshire Coast National Trail, there are a wealth of fine pathways crossing St David's Peninsula.

    The St David's Peninsula is a fantastic area for extremely challenging sea kayaking. Contact the Pembrokeshire Outdoor Charter Group for more details about this and the many other outdoor leisure opportunities in the area.

    There are many opportunities for horse riders on bridleways in the Pembrokeshire area.
     
    Climbing  Rock climbing
    St David's Head offers superb sea cliff climbing, there are also popular routes around Porthclais.

    This is a very sensitive area for wildlife so it is important to take a look at the British Mountaineering Council's Climbing Crags website for seasonal climbing restrictions in South Pembrokeshire which help protect nesting seabirds.

    Porthclais is a sheltered harbour ideal for boat trips to Ramsey Island. Launching is managed by the Porthclais Harbour Authority - call the Harbourmaster on 01437 720641.
     
    Surfing  Surfing
    Whitesands Beach is one of Wales' top surfing, kite surfing and windsurfing beaches, and a great place to learn to surf.

    Whitesands Beach offers swimmers stunning views of nearby St David's Head.
     
    Get involved  Get involved
    Join a working holiday based at our Mathry base camp or become a full time volunteer. Have fun in the great outdoors while helping us with conservation activities like heathland or hedge bank restoration, or useful tasks like pathway and step construction!
