About this property Sudbury Hall, which featured in the BBC's Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre, is a grand 17th-century family home. Experience the richly decorated interiors, including woodcarving by Grinling Gibbons, and the Great Staircase, which is one of the most elaborate of its kind in any English house. There's also another world to discover below stairs in the 1930s kitchen, before you enjoy a walk around the naturalised garden, by the lake and boathouse. Housed in the 19th-century service wing of Sudbury Hall, the Museum contains fascinating displays about children from the 19th century onwards. There are chimney climbs for adventurous 'sweep-sized' youngsters, a Victorian schoolroom and a fine collection of toys, games and dolls. The Museum traces the fascinating experience of childhood over the past 200 years. Find something for everyone in the eight new themed galleries, including captivating object displays, exciting activities for the whole family, personal histories, archive film, temporary exhibitions and lots, lots more.
