Between Patrick Gwynne’s and his sister Noreen’s bedrooms is the Powder
Room, designed at Noreen’s request, because she was tired of having to
share her bedroom in their old Victorian house with arriving party guests.
The little tiled shelf follows the convex curve of the wall and is inset with
a pair of round mirrors on metal stalks. There are matching stools beneath.
The wall is hung with hand-painted silk. The side walls are glass block. The
rear wall has a wash-basin flanked by two full-length mirrors.
