Built over a Roman road and on the site of the home of the Treasurers of York Minster, this elegant townhouse was rebuilt by visionary Yorkshireman Frank Green, who owned the house from 1897.

The Great Hall
Ceremonies can take place in the Great Hall. A spacious room overlooking the elegant walled garden and containing 17th-century furniture, pictures and textiles, it makes the perfect setting for your wedding.
The splendid interiors are matched by the Gothic architecture of York Minster, just a few metres from the private walled garden, an oasis of tranquillity in the centre of the city.

When can civil wedding ceremonies be held at Treasurer's House?
Ceremonies can take place on Fridays between March and December.
Receptions
The Great Hall can accommodate up to 80 people for a standing buffet. Alternatively the Reception Room, set in our historic tea-rooms, offers an intimate venue for a seated meal for up to 35 people.
