'Fascinating. I want to come back next year to see what progress has been made.' - visitor comment
The Tyntesfield Vision
The purpose of the National Trust at Tyntesfield is to bring alive the ongoing conservation and public access through learning opportunities such as work placements, apprenticeships, events, guided tours, 'taster' sessions, volunteering over the coming years to name but a few! We hope that this will lead to the fulfilment of everyone involved, whether it is personal development, building new skills and confidence, becoming part of the history of Tyntesfield or just having fun.
Tyntesfield saved for the nation
In June 2002, the spectacular Victorian Gothic-Revival estate of Tyntesfield near Bristol was saved for the nation through the tremendous generosity of our supporters and a number of organisations. However, there is still a long way to go. It is vital that we continue to raise funds for the long-term care of Tyntesfield.
In 2006 the Trust was granted £20 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to adapt the estate for full public access and enjoyment, to carry out essential capital repairs and through the creation of an endowment fund – to provide long–term support for operating costs. Conservation work has started onsite which, along with the provision of permanent visitor facilities, will be complete by 2012.
