    Weddings at Washington Old Hall

    Certain to impress you and your wedding guests, Washington Old Hall is exclusively yours for your special day.

    Voted by a national wedding magazine as one of England’s most romantic venues, the delightful stone-built 17th-century manor house is easily accessible from the A1 and A19.

    Part of Washington Old Hall's special history is its connection to George Washington, the first US president. The Hall was the home to his direct ancestors, and the current house still incorporates parts of a medieval dwelling where they lived.

    Washington Old Hall is ideally suited to more intimate family gatherings. We offer you the use of the Great Hall for your wedding ceremony or civil partnership. The tranquil gardens offer a wonderful backdrop for those all important photographs.

    The Great Hall

    Ceremonies can take place in the magical and romantic atmosphere of the Great Hall. The Hall, with its medieval arches and oak beamed ceiling, is furnished in 17th-century style with oak furniture, paintings and delftware.

    • Capacity: 60
    • Price: £425 (not including registrar's fees)

    Receptions

    Receptions can take place in conjunction with a ceremony at Washington Old Hall. They are held in the Liberty Room which boasts an oak beamed ceiling, mullioned windows and a collection of American memorabilia.

    • Price: £875 (not including registrar's fees or catering costs)

    When can civil wedding ceremonies be held at Washington Old Hall?

    Wedding ceremonies and receptions can take place on Fridays and Saturdays from 14 February to the second week in December, when Washington Old Hall is closed to visitors.

    It is sometimes possible to hold weddings on other days of the week. Please contact us to check availability for any specific date you have in mind.
