About this property Magnificent Wimpole Hall was originally built in 1640 but was much added to and altered in the following centuries. Its exquisite interiors were designed by many celebrated architects, including Gibbs, Soane and Flitcroft. Explore the fascinating servants' quarters and imagine the work needed to keep such a house running smoothly. Wimpole's famous walled kitchen garden produces delicious fresh fruit and vegetables for the restaurant, including 50 varieties of tomato! Marvel at the restored glasshouse, designed by Sir John Soane: the height of 19th-century sophistication. As well as colourful formal parterres and informal Pleasure Grounds, on either side of the formal grand avenue the sweeping landscaped parkland has a Gothic tower to discover, a Chinese bridge and tranquil serpentine lakes. In spring thousands of daffodils add to the delightful vistas.
