About this property Wimpole Home Farm is a working farm consisting of historical thatched farm buildings and a modern farmyard. Get to know the wide range of rare breed sheep, goats, cattle, pigs and horses, and enjoy the daily milking demonstration and animal bath time in the summer. Be sure to take part in our many farm activities from Shire horse wagon rides to collecting eggs and grooming the donkeys. A model farm, Wimpole was built in 1794 by Sir John Soane, at a time of great agricultural improvement. The Great Barn is home to displays explaining traditional methods of farming and a strangely fascinating collection of old farm tools. Hidden among the trees, an adventure playground for older children and a special area, including pedal tractors, for younger children make this an active day out for the whole family.
