The Explorers

The explorers presenting their discoveries

The explorers presenting their discoveries

Following the success of our 2012 Monarchy project, we teamed up again with Year 4 from Montacute's All Saints' Primary School and Actiontrack Performance Company.

In the autumn of 2013, we created a range of activities inspired by the fabulous portrait of Sir Walter Ralegh and his son, which hangs in the Long Gallery. Music, art and theatre took us on a journey of exploration and discovery. A performance of 'The Explorers' was enjoyed by pupils, parents and visitors alike.

Working in partnership

The Long Gallery at Montacute House.

Through our regional partnership with the National Portrait Gallery we develop learning programmes, interpretation and projects connected to the portraits on display in the Long Gallery.
