Volunteering positions

Gardening

Would you like to expand your gardening skills and learn new ones? If you would like to join us you do not need any formal training, just a passion for gardening. Our gardening volunteers work on Thursdays and Fridays.

Rangering

Our park may be an oasis of calm in the midst of suburbia but it requires a dedicated team of enthusiasts. Volunteers help with park improvements, maintaing footpaths and the river. Volunteers work on Tuesdays.

Cafés and shops

Our cafés and shops are very popular with visitors and are vital to generating income. It is important that in these roles you have a friendly and outgoing nature to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Learning and events

We have an extensive schools and events programme. The events assistant role is for those who like variety and meeting new people, while those with an educational background would be well suited to lead school sessions.

Livinggreen volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of the running of the stable yard. Roles include;

  • Livinggreen centre volunteers - meet and greet visitors, act as a guide for the exhibition.
  • Green explorers - to run activities for under 5s.
  • Woodsmen - to help maintain our new wood burning stove and to provide information to visitors.

EVP is designed to increase the opportunities for corporate and public sector organisations to contribute to the community and enviroment. Activities range from natural conservation, fence painting and helping at events.
