The restaurant is bright and airy, and on sunny days, you can sit outside

Our award-winning Bay Restaurant is near the reception and is open daily during the season. Hot food is served from 12 - 2.30pm.

  • March to Nov: Mon to Fri: 10am - 5pm. Sat and Sun: 10am - 5pm
  • Nov to March: Mon to Fri: 10am - 3pm. Sat and Sun: 10am - 5pm

Jason and Glenn, the likely creators of your lunch

While Jason's signature dishes have helped the Bay Restaurant to win the Taste of Ulster award for the last three years running, Glenn is famous for his creative seasonal soups.

Most of the plants you can find in the garden shop come from our gardens

The plants for sale are spray-free, and most are grown on the property from our own stock using peat-free compost.

Buying Mount Stewart grown plants helps to support our conservation propagation programme, conserving our collection for future generations.

'A Year in the Life of Mount Stewart' will be in our shop from April

'A Year in the Life of Mount Stewart' charts one of Northern Ireland's best-loved properties. Through a series of photographs with accompanying text, the book offers readers a fascinating insight into work occurring behind the scenes, and shows the dedication of staff and volunteers.

You can buy the book from our shop in April, for £16.95.

Secondhand books

Mount Stewart's secondhand bookshop is located at the rear of the reception area, and is yours to browse anytime during regular opening hours.

It's stocked entirely with donated books and run by volunteers.
