Nostell Priory Obelisk Walk

The parkland is a mosaic of interconnecting habitats, with pockets of semi natural ancient woodlands, traditional grazing pasture and wild flower meadows. In summer the meadow is awash with colour attracting insects such as dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies and bees. During a winter visit you may hear the knocking of a lesser spotted green woodpecker ringing out in the mature oak trees.

Take a stroll to the historic Obelisk Lodge

The impressive Obelisk Lodge, built in the 17th century, was still inhabited up to the late 1950s. This gatehouse was the main entrance to the parkland up to 1866 until the building of Nostell train station prompted the use of the entrance by Wragby Lodge via the A638.
